Original job description

Humans of HR is an upcoming boutique recruitment agency in Vancouver and is very quickly becoming the go-to agency for hiring and placement of skilled corporate professionals. Combined with our vast network and extraordinary customer-centric approach, we are the obvious choice in helping you find your next home.

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the Greater Vancouver area for a Payroll Administrator to join their payroll and benefits team on a 13-month contract.

This role suits a hands-on payroll professional who can step in, get up to speed quickly and run payroll on their own within the first couple of weeks. You’ll join a small, collaborative team that works closely together and supports each other through every pay cycle.

This is a hybrid role - 2 days in office per week.

Key Responsibilities

Process full-cycle payroll for salaried head office and corporate employees
Run payroll for a small group of non-union hourly employees in another province
Manage employee data, time entries and pay changes in ADP Workforce Now
Make sure every pay run is accurate, on time and compliant with federal and provincial rules
Prepare and reconcile month-end payroll reports and journal entries
Answer employee payroll questions quickly and professionally
Work with HR and Finance on new hires, terminations and changes to pay or benefits
Help with audits, records of employment (ROEs) and other compliance tasks as needed
Spot ways to tighten processes and improve how the team works

What You Bring

3+ years of hands-on Canadian payroll experience
Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Workforce Manager (required)
Experience with multi-provincial payroll
PCP designation, or working towards it, is an asset
Experience with month-end payroll processes and reconciliations
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
A collaborative, low-ego way of working and clear communication
Availability to start soon

What’s on Offer

A 13-month contract with an established, growing organization
Hybrid schedule, in the office two days a week
Health and dental benefits for the length of the contract
A transit allowance or on-site parking
A supportive team environment where your work makes a visible difference

At Humans of HR, we support the development and growth of our candidates to reach their full potential. If you are thinking about your next career move and the above role is just the right fit, please send us your resume along with a cover letter in confidence and one of our consultants will be in touch for a confidential discussion.
