Torus Talent is recruiting a Junior Project Engineer for a large mining client with mining operations across the Americas.

The initial contract is for 12 months, with potential for long-term extensions or conversion to permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and take ownership of the Request for Information (RFI) process, acting as a liaison between the engineering team, external consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Track technical queries, follow up on outstanding responses, and ensure information is communicated effectively.
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of capital and sustaining engineering projects.
- Assist with engineering documentation, scopes of work, schedules, progress reports, and project deliverables.
- Coordinate engineering drawings, technical documentation, and information across disciplines.
- Support project meetings, action tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
- Assist with project execution activities, including occasional travel to the mining operation in Alaska.
Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Approximately 1 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience, including co-op or internship experience.
- Civil or Mechanical Engineering background preferred, although other engineering disciplines will be considered.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to learn quickly.
- Exposure to mining, construction, project engineering, industrial operations, or maintenance is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally to the United States.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a self-motivated junior engineer who enjoys working collaboratively, takes ownership of responsibilities, and is eager to develop their career.
The successful candidate will be comfortable coordinating with technical professionals, managing competing priorities, and proactively following through on outstanding project requirements.
Previous mining experience is beneficial but not essential. The right attitude, communication skills, and willingness to learn are equally important.
