EraTree is the institutional liquidity provider for both digital assets and fiat currencies. We transact with fiat and stablecoins for treasurers, payment firms and money services businesses. EraTree Technologies Inc. is registered with FINTRAC in Canada, and EraTree Inc. with FinCEN in the US.
We build our technology in-house, and you will work across all of it:
- Trading: real-time pricing across liquidity providers, trade execution, settlement, treasury and reconciliation.
- Payments: cross-border payment infrastructure, from stablecoin-funded payouts to multi-currency accounts and routing across payment rails.
- Onboarding and compliance: client KYC and KYB with AI document extraction, identity verification, wallet risk screening and compliance review.
- AI-powered internal tools: agents that research, qualify and support our commercial teams, with a human in the loop.
This is a generalist role. One week you might build a client-facing payment flow; the next, a pricing service or an integration with a bank or CRM. You will take a feature from a rough brief to production and own it after it ships.
What you'll do
Build product
- Ship features end to end: database schema, APIs, background jobs and the React interface on top.
- Build client-facing flows that handle real money and real identity, where clarity and correctness both matter.
- Build internal tools that our trading, operations and compliance teams use every day, and sit with them to make those tools faster.
Integrate with the financial world
- Connect to banks, payment rails, liquidity providers, blockchains and third-party vendors through their APIs, webhooks and data feeds.
- Make money movement safe by design: idempotent operations, clear state machines, audit trails and double-entry ledgers.
- Handle the unhappy paths, such as retries, partial failures, returned payments and stale data.
Run what you build
- Deploy, monitor and support your services in production, and fix what breaks.
- Write tests that guard the rules that matter most, like pricing guardrails and ledger balances.
- Review code, write clear documentation, and help set the engineering standards of a growing team.
Build with AI
- Build product features on large language models, from document extraction to research and drafting agents.
- Use AI coding tools in your daily work, and help the team use them well.
What you bring
Must have
- 4+ years building and shipping production web applications, owning features from database to UI.
- Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js (or a comparable full-stack framework).
- Solid Python for backend services, scripts and integrations.
- PostgreSQL and SQL: schema design, migrations, transactions, and an ORM such as Drizzle or Prisma.
- REST APIs, webhooks and third-party integrations, with care for retries, idempotency and failure handling.
- Comfortable on Linux, with Docker and cloud VMs, deploying and debugging your own services.
- Clear writing and good judgement. You ask why before building, and you can explain a trade-off to a non-engineer.
Nice to have
- Fintech, payments, banking or trading experience, especially ledgers, reconciliation or money movement.
- Stablecoins and blockchain data on Ethereum or Tron.
- Market data and pricing systems, or quote and trade lifecycles.
- Building product on LLMs: prompt design, tool use, agents and evaluation.
- You already use AI tools such as Claude or Copilot in your daily engineering work.
- Security awareness: authentication, OWASP Top 10, secrets handling.
- Integrations with Salesforce, Microsoft 365 or identity verification vendors.
- Testing with Vitest and Playwright, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
- Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We hire for judgement and ownership over a perfect match.
